What’s Up?
For a few months it has been my intention to sit down and find a way to start this conversation. Life can be like that, we know we have something to do or somewhere to go and yet we sit still, almost paralyzed and unable to take that first step or in this case write that first word. It only seems fitting to begin with the end in mind. What have we been up to this summer? Where are we going and what exactly do we do here?
As summer heats up and we prepare for fall’s cool down a lot has been happening at AT2. May marked one full year in our beautiful office space and almost a year in a half down this adventure of a cooperative work environment. July was a busy month Nolan joined the lineup of manual therapy practioners and Laurel completed her certification for Visceral Manual Therapy Practioner. As the calendar flips August means that April has signed up for her first TA class, Deb has signed up to take VM2 and Lindsey continues to build her schedule back to capacity after the birth of her second son. This team of practioners take pride in our work and the learning never stops in order to ensure the quickest, most effective and complete treatments for our patients.
We are already planning our next steps for 2026 with Laurel diving deeper into the brain, Deb and April have already committed to taking Visceral Manipulation Dissection. 2026 will see Nolan and Lindsey continue to build their schedules and sign up for course work that makes their heart sing and their hands dance.
So now that you are brought up to speed on what we have been doing while you have enjoyed these long hot days, let’s take a look at the basics of what we do.
Many people have a hard time describing or even understanding what takes place during a session in the office. At the core of our work, we see each patient as an individual on their own, personal healing journey. We treat what you present to us on the day you arrive by listening to your body in order to address the area of greatest restriction. We use that information to reset the body’s inherent patterns and provide a home program that reinforces the changes made during the session in order to retrain movement patterns. For a more detailed explanation please read Therapeutic Value of Visceral Manipulation or UNLOCKING-WELLNESS-THE-POWER-OF-VISCERAL-MANIPULATION.pdf from the Barral Institute that give the basic building blocks for the foundation of the work conducted.
Enjoy your August and we will chat more next month.
